Silo is located on the north-eastern part of the island, facing Crikvenica Riviera about 20 km from Krk bridge and 15 km from airport Rijeka. With almost untouched nature will satisfy every visitor who looks for his own inlet and peace.
Silo celebrates its day on 16th August on the festivity of St. Roch, which represents the continuation of the tradition initiated in mid 19th century, when the plague devastated our country. The inhabitants of Silo and many others vowed to St. Roch to save them from the plague, which marked the beginning of the votive St. Roch processions from Polje to the church of St. Nicholas in Šilo.
Particular qualities of Silo are its numerous and naturally protected pebble beaches and the specially well known sandy beach with its clear, pleasant sea, ideal for small children and with blue flag as sign of quality of the sea. In the bay outside of main beaches is special dog friendly beach. For cycling and walking are suitable numerous paths through old olive groves between Silo and Polje.
There are also available tennis courts, beach volleyball courts and various water sports (sailing, rowing, diving, etc.). Diving in bay of Silo has many interesting diving points which are presented by local diving clubs, especially attractive is shipwreck Peltastis one of the best diving points in Kvarner.
